The Power Of Scents
Say for example, the smell of white clean sheets reminds me of my mother. I don't know why it does, but the smell of it makes me feel warm, safe and comfortable, like somebody’s hugging me. Another one, the smell of one certain perfume reminds me of my freaking neighbor who… uhmm never mind.
So what's the point? Because a few days ago, I smelled the smell of chicken crap and Mansanitas trees which reminds me of my childhood days. I miss my childhood days. I REALLY DO. I miss having a carefree life. I remembered those times where the biggest problem for me is how to escape the yaya who is constantly forcing me and my brother for siesta because I want to play outside with my neighbors.
Ahh… those were the days. The lutu-lutuan, the Bahay-bahayan, the taguan and the step-in, step-out game. Haha. I was always the “mama” or the “anak” when we used to play those games. I never forgot how we used to get leaves from plants and pretend that they were the food for dinner or for merienda. I remember the days when I used to run as fast as I could towards nowhere with only one thing in my mind: FUN. But now, running is no more fun for me, I no longer like running like I used to. Most of time when I run at my present time is when I try to escape from different dilemmas creeping inside my mind. Although I still run towards nowhere, the fun that used to be there slowly dies away.
NOSTALGIA BEYBE. How can I ever escape?

Black Eyed Peas
Bloc Party
Dead Kennedys
Lagwagon

Oasis
Operation Ivy
Reel Big Fish
Toy Dolls

GSP + PARADISE OUTING (VAL'S BIRTHDAY) = one summer LOVING
It's such a great feeling to get out of the house for 4 days and chill and have fun at the same time. Yes, part of it was work and labor (due to the camping) but 80 percent of it was pure solid, HARD CORE fun. Maaaaaaaan, I'm loving this summer. Seriously. This has got to be one of the most enjoyable summers in my whole life. So, come with me and let's take a trip to nostalgia land and reminisce once more my 4 day vacation…
Reminiscing...
Starts...
Now...
DAY 1
GSP camping. It was held inside the campus. We had to set the tents and all sorts of preparations. We placed some decorations and all sorts of ek-ek and pakeme-keme in our camp. We also went to the camping in troops. We called our troop "MONKEY BUSINESS". Nyahaha! Man, too cliché, too cliché – But cute enough. The members of the troop were Milay, Valerie, Remy, Bien, Daphne Belisario, Krysta, and Allyn. Our troop was the noisiest and the naughtiest.
Later that afternoon, we were forced by our TITAS (which we exaggerately call teeeeyytaa) to sing petty, cheesy, corny (and all the adjectives that you can relate to the stated adjectives) GSP songs. All the volleyball players who were attending the training inside the campus started to mock us. Oh-yeah. I know that. My spider sense was telling me so.
Where are the _______(insert troop name here. for instance - MONKEYS)? (2x)
Here we are! (2x)
How are you this afternoon?
Very well and thank you (2x)
Then you smile (2x)
Nakow!!! Yehey! Ang saya. Its not that I’m mocking the GSP but I’m disturbed because ginawa kaming katawa-tawa doon. Pero hindi rin nagtagal ang paghihirap. Natapos rin ang unos. Dumating na ang gabi. Umulan ng pagkalakas-lakas. First time kong nagcamping na umulan. Pero masaya rin yun kase we wont be sleeping inside the tent like pigs. Actually, we didn't sleep. We just had our sessions. Tsk tsk tsk....SESSIONS DAW.

DAY 2
Camping parin. For breakfast, we had to look for our own food in a form of scavenging hunt. We cooked our own food, started our own fire, we learned how to make knots and we had gadget building. We made our own table, a dancing table. Thank God no more GSP songs.

Night came, It was campfire time! When we were about to start the campfire, umeksena ang ulan.

DAY 3
Last and final day for camping. Yeba! Excited na ako for PARADISE ISLAND. We should be attending the Palm Sunday mass but sad to say, we didn't because we lacked the time for the mass. Val's mom and dad came and took us out of the camping and we were of to Paradise Island.
We met with the rest of the gang at MCDO MAIN. Everyone was already excited. Yes, beach – HERE WE COME. The whole barkada was present except for Zillah, Carizza and Louie. We rode on Val’s auto and the next thing we knew, we were already on the barge.
Upon arriving, we ate lunch and some of us played TONGITS. Yeah. Larong pang sugarol. Lakad dito lakad doon.
Night time, we ate dinner and nakinig sa babaeng kumakanta na may dalawang guitarista.

Happy Birthday Val!
DAY 4
WRAPPING UP
Isa lang ang masasabi ko. BITIN! Napakabitin ng vacation namin. Kaya we planned to have a Part Two, Yang kompleto na ang buong barkada. So what have I learned? Always cherish every moment with the people close to your heart.

crusaders GRADUTAION
Due to my hideous conduct during the training, I had the utmost expectation that I would fail the training. Ask all of my classmates during the training if there was a minute that I wasn't silent all throughout the program. And there was this unbearable moment that I shouted -- erm, screamed because some of my classmates and some staff members scared me off with a baby doll which was never attractive or CUTE for me. I hate dolls. I’m scared of dolls (especially porcelains ones, and include clowns and mascots on the list). It pisses me off. They actually have a name for this petty doll, and she was called TINA. And because of my amazonic voice, I brought trouble to myself and some of my companions. But technically, it wasn't my fault. It was the fault of the people who tried to scare me, and who eventually, became successful. Oh phooey.
Hence I had a slight fear that I may not be able to graduate and I would come home and tell mama that I have wasted her 300 pesos. I waited in anticipation for (miraculously) all of us passed. Hoorah! Hoorah!! Hoorah!!!
Welcome graduation!
Our graduation started at almost 3:00 because of a lot of delays. I was beginning to grow roots and leaves already. I was already restless .I tried my best to keep my cool by sitting in the most
relaxing way that I could think of, and that is to place both of my feet on the chair itself. Parang nasa bahay lang na position. Feel at home, kungbaga. At last, the program started (finally). They gave out the certificates in alphabetical order. When the names starting with K and L were called, a classmate of mine called said to me: "Mar, ikaw na next". But to my surprise, they skipped my name and proceeded with the letter N. Letche. What did I do know? And so, N, O, P,S, T , Z passed. My name was still not called. After the last girl was called, who was ZEHENDER, Montajes was called. Oh yeah, oh yeah. I thought I wasn't going to get a certificate. Upon receiving the certificate, the one that handed it to me said, with her eyes shooting at me (take note, I was all smiles while receiving it) "Next time, matuto kang umupo ng maayos hah." Oh, boo-hoo. I did not respond but I just snatched the certificate and sat on the chair. Crap. Way to go. Groan.
But I am happy to tell you that the graduation wasn't really that bad. In fact it was very memorable and was full of fun! Tawa lng ng tawa, Tukso ng tukso. I was amazed that everyone was not hesitant to join every contest prepared by some of the students. We played the talong game, to start with. Classic talaga ang larong ito. It never fails. May award pa nga kaming BEST TALONG SWINGER. And guess sino ang nanalo? JOHANNA ZEHENDER.
We also played the SOUND RELAY, PALAKASAN NG BOSES, the PINOY HENYO (similar to the one in Eat Bulaga) and lastly, the MODELLING.
Pictures:

So, yeah, I'm happy that I graduated and now, I am officially a FIRST
RESPONDER.

summer lovin, sun and burn
Soooo….. I have a new hairstyle by the way. Nyahahaha! X D
And, I'm loving UP DHARMA DOWN!!
** UdD is:
Armi Millare [keyboards, vocals, rhythm guitars]
Carlos Tanada [lead guitars]
Ean Mayor [drums, human turntables]
Paul Yap [bass]
The band got their very unique name DHARMA, which means laws of life. Listen to them and you'll find out how great Rock, Neo-soul, Acid Jazz and Electronic music is if combined. I love their "genre-less" music, their catchy tunes and much much much mucho more. Too bad, their album, FRAGMENTED isn’t available (I think) here in Davao. I've searched every single music store on the city, yet I cannot find one. Tsk tsk.
Nevertheless, I still advice you, dear reader, dear music lover and kapwa-noypi to take a plunge and listen to their music. (UdD’s songs are always played on NU107). I am at present hooked with OO, their 3RD single released. So check it awt!!!!
Naiisip kita
Baka sakali lang maisip mo ako
Di mo lang alam
Hanggang sa gabi
Inaasam na Makita kang muli
Natapos ang lahat sa di inaasahang panahon
At ngayon ako'y iyong iniwang
Luhaan, sugatan, di mapakinabangan
Sana nagtanong ka lang
Kung…
Sana'y nagtanong ka lang
Di mo lang alam
Ako'y iyong nasaktan
Baka sakali lang
Maisip mo naman
Hindi mo lang alam
Kay tagal na panahon
Ako'y nandirito parin
Hanggang ngayon para sayo
Lumipas mga araw
Na ubod ng saya
Di parin nagbabago ang aking pagsinta
Kung ako'y nagkasala patawad n asana
Ang puso kong matagal nang nagmahal
Di mo lang alam
Ako'y iyong nasaktan
nagbabasakali lang
Maisip mo naman
Sana lang
Sana ako naman
Di mo lang alam
Ika'y minamasdan
Oh..
Malas mo
Ikaw ang natipuhan ko
Di mo lang alam
Ako'y iyong nasaktan
